I am an English educator with more than 7 years of teaching experience and currently teach at an international school in Bogor using the Cambridge International Curriculum. My passion extends beyond teaching English to scientific perspectives and philosophy. I believe that every student has a unique learning path, so I help learners discover strategies that align with their strengths, goals, and learning preferences. My teaching approach focuses not only on language skills but also on developing the mindset, self-awareness, and mental resilience needed for effective communication and lifelong learning. By combining all of them, I aim to help students understand not only what to learn, but also why and how learning works, enabling them to become more confident, independent, and successful learners.
My English teaching method focuses on developing practical communication skills while maintaining a balanced approach to language learning. Rather than emphasizing grammar rules alone, I integrate speaking, vocabulary development, critical thinking, and effective learning strategies to help students become confident and independent English users. I believe that language is acquired through meaningful practice, active engagement, and consistent exposure, so I encourage students to understand not only what to learn but also how to learn effectively. Throughout my teaching career, I have created opportunities for students to use English in a more practical way. For example, I mentored a student to confidently deliver the script for a school flag ceremony in English before a large audience, helping her overcome anxiety and strengthen her public speaking skills. I have also led scholarship preparation programs that helped numerous students gain admission to universities, including one student who successfully entered an English Education program. In addition, my experience teaching in both international school environments and educational programs, including exposure to international educational settings in Turku, Finland, has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching to diverse learners.
